Dunkin' Donuts announced the news yesterday with a special Facebook Live event airing from Savannah, Georgia (the birthplace of Girl Scouts of the USA). The latest inspiration for coffee flavors at Dunkin' Donuts are three of the most iconic flavors of Girl Scout Cookies.
Dunkin' Donuts said in a Friday press release that iced and hot coffee, lattes, macchiatos, frozen coffee and frozen chocolate can all have Girl Scout Cookie flavors. Now, those favorite boxed cookies are making an appearance in your coffee cup, not just by it. Dunkin' Donuts has partnered with Girl Scouts of United States of America for three new coffee flavors. The coffee flavors will be available through May. Or perhaps just give them your bank password and remove the middleman. "It was just a song that we both like and she chose to put cookies in the song", he said. Or a Peanut Butter Cookie macchiato, which combines peanut butter, chocolate and coffee could be your poison.
Dunkin' isn't alone in wanting to wear the Girl Scouts badge. This is the fifth year for the friendly competition, which raises money for the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay. "They will often go to several restaurants just to see what each chef is doing", said Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, which also owns Plate Catering.
The duo has even inspired people across the nation to buy cookies and donate them to the military, with the family saying that over 300 boxes have been purchased for donations to the troops. According to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, more than 2.9 million boxes will be distributed to more than 2,300 groups over the weekend. Otherwise, you will have to wait till next year.
