This week begins the last major stage of the show, the hometown visits, where Arie and each of his four finalists travel to the finalist's home town and meet their family. Her devoted family is extremely suspicious and distrustful of Arie and his motives.
Of course, there's taxidermy on Kendall's hometown date-it's her thing. She admits she's not ready to be engaged at this exact moment, but does assure Arie that she's falling in love with him and not ready for this to end.
Arie insists that he's falling for Kendall.
After some pleasantries, Kendall's mother took her into another room to "dish" while Kylie grilled Arie about his feelings and questioned the "space" between them. I am so much more interested in her now. The southern belle picks an activity Arie will love: racing cars at Crowley's Ridge Raceway. Her response is that she, "can't say at this very moment...that I'm ready to be engaged".
Date number two takes place in Weiner, Arkansas, where Tia is from.
He ultimately decides to send Tia home after feeling like there's just "something missing". He also said that Booth is smart and he loves when she calls him out on things. Sadly, all they discovered were rumors of Arie's playboy past. Tia would have no time for a villain like Chad Johnson because she was already completely fed up with Krystal on The Bachelor.
Tia, says Biehl, is a perfectly adequate match for Arie. Then silence. One of Lauren's relatives asks Arie to say something in Dutch, which is kind of a lame party trick but I guess if you're desperate for conversation it's a fine idea. Everything looked as though it wasn't going well because her family was just sitting there staring at him. After picking apples, she warned him about meeting her uncle Gary, who's a pastor and a father figure since her own father passed away.
When asked if she would consider becoming The Bachelorette, she responded, "I would definitely consider coming back to be Bachelorette". After the visit, Kendall and Arie have some time to talk one-on-one, and she finally tells him that she's falling for him, too.
"I hope they're able to read our connection and are able to see how he makes me", she says nervously as she walks with Arie. Arie said that he was nervous to meet them.
All and all, every hometown date seemed to go well. Lauren's dad Dave makes Arie sweat (literally). The two seemed to connect after Arie shared a story about participating in a goodwill tour of Iraq to visit USA troops. "The thing that hurt me the most was talking about how my little brother was right to stay away from me and be on the streets". He didn't seem to believe Bekah was ready to settle down and get married.
Arie dumped Bekah during a three-on-one date with Kendall Long and Tia Booth in Tuscany because he didn't think they were on the same page in life. Arie walked her out and told her that she didn't do anything wrong, and that he didn't have a good explanation for not picking her. Now the physical therapist from Wiener, Arkansas is talking about her next move - one that may include a return to TV. He said this during a recent episode of The Ringer's Bachelor Party podcast. Then on Monday night, Arie's romantic journey continues as he and the remaining girls go to Peru, and Arie is confronted by one of the girl's ex-boyfriends.
