According to their new program, users of some non-Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pros will get a free battery replacement.
The company on its website said that a component may fail which further causes the built-in battery on these models to swell. In any case, the company is promising to replace eligible batteries for free.
To know if your MacBook Pro is eligible for a battery replacement, you can check by entering its serial number on Apple's support page.
The affected laptops are Apple's MacBook Pro model, without Touch Bar, which were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017. If yours is in an affected batch, just take your laptop into an authorised Apple dealer, a retail store or post it to the fix centre and your MacBook will come back with a new battery, which should give its stamina a shot in the arm. As per their official statements, numerous Macbook Pro users have some issues regarding the battery.
The company also advises that customers who may have an affected device, but have previously paid to have the battery replaced, are eligible for a refund. And, how can the technology giant miss on something that is related to battery replacement?
This issue is not present on older 13-inch MacBook Pro models or the 13-inch MacBook Pros with Touch Bar. And, there you will find the serial number.
Apple took to Apple support page to post details about the eligibility criteria for the replacement program.
The owner of the computer can mail it in to Apple Repair Center, or take it to an Apple Retail Store or authorized service center.
