New additional exterior colours as well as upgraded interior trims have been added to enrich the feel and appearance that is further enhanced by chrome trim on the grille. The front fascia has been completely re-worked, as has the rear. The headlights now seem to be floating in a large honeycomb grille and the lower vents have been reworked substantially.
To match its stablemates' - V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE - street cred, the Turbo 1LE gets FE3 suspension with larger diameter front and rear stabiliser bars, specially tuned dampers, stiffer rear cradle bushings and cross-axis ball joints in the rear tow links that enhance lateral stiffness.
Aiming to stay relevant in the ever-competitive vehicle market, Chevrolet is changing the face of the Spark, Malibu, Cruze and Camaro. Check out the new Globe Drive Build and Price Tool to see the latest discounts, rebates and rates on new cars, trucks and SUVs. Gone are the two scoops flanking the sculpted lines of the muscular hood.
Just prior to Chevrolet's recent National Dealer meeting a few media guests were given the chance to take a sneak peak of the new design face of Chevrolet.
At the rear, the fascia has been redesigned to look less angular and it appears that the SS badge looks less forlorn than on the previous sixth-gen.
The cosmetic changes to the Camaro are minimal, with the reshaped bumpers making the biggest aesthetic impact. According to Chevrolet, they are "a more sculptured evolution of Chevrolet's signature dual-element design". Chevy Camaro's traditional red lenses will be available only on LS and LT, while RS and SS get dark-tinted neutral density lenses. They honestly remind us of something that would be more at home on a Malibu, but they aren't the worse thing in the world.
The Iron Duke only was available in the base "Sport Coupe" Camaro trim, and the engine received a boost to 92 HP for the 1983 model year. We can expect pricing to be announced closer to the dealership debut and since there was no mention of power increases for any of the 2019 models - I will go ahead and guess that any increases will be minor at best. Also joining the powertrain will be a 10L80 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission with launch control and line lock in the SS trim. Leveraging the impressive performance and ideal weight distribution enabled by Camaro's 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the Turbo 1LE comes exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission and a tailored chassis package derived from the V-6 1LE to offer track-capable performance.
Chevrolet will continue to offer the same lineup of four, six and eight-cylinder engines for their 2019 models. The rear camera is said to drastically reduce the Camaro's substantial blind spots. The 2019 Camaro also gets the Rear Camera Mirror on 2SS and ZL1 models, available Forward Collision Alert and an improved rear-vision camera. Its result was one of the worst-performing Camaros ever sold.
