Liverpool could be on the verge of a dream summer transfer window. He said via The Metro: "There'll be more business to come, and Nabil Fekir is clearly a player they want and will hope to tie up a deal before the World Cup".
More work remains though, with at least one forward player coming in, a goalkeeper probable and Fekir an oft-mentioned attacking option.
Ironically, Fekir could next be in action in his home stadium; France's final warm-up match before the World Cup begins is against United States at the Groupama Stadium, Lyon's ground.
According to journalist Ed Aarons, Liverpool say that no deal has been agreed as of yet for the Frenchman.
Twenty-four-year-old Fekir has played 39 games across all competitions for Lyon this season, scoring 23 goals in the process and attracting the attention from some of the top clubs in Europe.
"Liverpool's interest exists but for now nothing is done".
Recent reports had suggested that Bayern are Liverpool's main rivals for Fekir, so fans will be buoyed that the Bavarians haven't sought to rival them yet.
