It has been a long time since we have seen any big addition to the Diablo Universe the last being Reaper of Souls, the only expansion to Diablo 3, releasing all the way back in 2014.
It appears that Blizzard is now working on a new unannounced Diablo project.
While it's easy to assume the call for new talent is in relation to the rumored Diablo 3 switch installment, the job listings instead confirm that an original Diablo game is now in the works, calling for qualified Artists, Animators, and Engineers to assist in the development of a "new, unannounced Diablo project".
Let's hope that Blizzard will reveal more details about this new Diablo project sooner than later. For now, at least. However, a bevy of recent job listings suggests the developer may be shifting its focus to the future, as the listings confirm Blizzard is hiring for several positions to work on a brand new installment in the venerable Diablo franchise. Our backgrounds are diverse, but we all share a real passion for what we do.
Previous to this there have been strong rumours of a Switch version of Diablo III, although that's never been confirmed.
According to PC Gamer, Diablo designer David Brevik said a year ago: "If they do a Diablo 2 Remaster, it's going to be hard to make it feel exactly like the same game".
Some of the duties of the dungeon artist role include building atmospheric dungeons (emphasis on the plural) from the ground up and world building. The person will report to the Lead Environment Artist and Art Director.
But it there's also the chance the job is for a completely new game.
