At Microsoft's E3 press conference, Xbox boss Phil Spencer devoted to an entire segment to reeling off first-party studios in their ownership - with some nice surprises. Those games included "Battlefield 5" from Electronic Arts, "Fallout 76" from Bethesda Softworks and "Tom Clancy's The Division 2" from Ubisoft. Fast Start is a new feature in the Xbox June Update which will help you launch select Xbox games up to two times faster.
This included a brand-new studio, The Initiative, and the acquisition of some truly fantastic studios already doing great work.
The third entry in Lara Croft's origin story came out swinging with a new gameplay trailer at Microsoft's E3 event.
Microsoft has been pelted with criticism for lacking hit video games exclusively for play on Xbox, while Sony has dominated this console generation with PlayStation 4 models boasting a cornucopia of coveted titles.
"The same team that delivered unprecedented performance with Xbox One X is deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark for console gaming", Spencer said.
We all know that free Android games aren't always free these days, but many of them are very close if you have a little patience. The last Battletoads title was 1994's Battletoads Arcade; a pretty standard beat-'em-up that reportedly didn't do that well at arcades but is considered to be a pretty fun title by series fans.
But this wasn't Microsoft's only big news. The game will be powered by the "Slipspace Engine", a new engine for the franchise. It is being developed by DLaLa Studios in partnership with Microsoft's Rare Studio. Instead, with the wealth of content shown at E3 2018, Microsoft is playing the long game here.
