The couple separated in September 2016 after two years of marriage and filed for divorce shortly after.
It comes amid rumours Angelina's divorce with Brad Pitt is turning sour, with the star's lawyer having to deny she was leaving the case.
The former couple - who have children Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox together - split in 2016, but are still at loggerheads in court over their divorce filing, with Angelina now alleging her former partner has paid "no meaningful child support" since their split nearly two years ago.
The brood is now living in London with Jolie as she films Maleficent 2, while Pitt has spent his court-ordered time with the kids in London and Los Angeles, where he is shooting Quentin Tarantino's new movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Angelina Jolie is seeking to have her divorce from Brad Pitt sped up, according to a new report.
"(Pitt) has a statutory duty to pay child support. "But [Angelina] filed [the papers on Tuesday] in L.A. Superior Court knowing that it would go public and that [Brad] would be made out to be a deadbeat dad - which he isn't", the friend told the New York Post's gossip column.
Jolie's lawyers are requesting to appear before a judge, so they can schedule a status conference to address all of the financial issues in the separation.
In June, a spokesperson for Jolie also rebuked the "misleading leak" of the court documents detailing her and Pitt's new custody agreement. "As of present, (Pitt) has paid no meaningful child support since separation".
However, it is not clear exactly what Jolie and Pitt agreed to when they split because both parties agreed to keep all case documents confidential.
The former couple share six children together.
Pitt admitted in his first post-split interview in May that heavy drinking contributed to the breakdown of his marriage, and said he was now a teetotaler.
