Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has confirmed 17-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is set for a first-team role this season following his impressive display against Arsenal in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday. He will not get his wish to look Eden Hazard in the eye and gauge his commitment until this weekend, when the Belgian returns from his post-World Cup break. "I want to speak to him", Sarri was quoted as saying by Sky Sports news.
"I spoke yesterday with him about his lateness, not about his future".
However, it seems Chelsea have already made up their minds for them.
Chelsea have reportedly called off Thibaut Courtois's expected move to Real Madrid after the club failed to sign a replacement.
Discussing the match, Sarri said: "I am looking forward to playing in Wembley, it is my first time".
"I hope I have clarified the matter and any possible misunderstanding".
Sarri, who has not won a trophy in his career, said: "The match for us is very hard for one reason: they have worked all together for two years".
Hudson-Odoi's velcro close control, dribbling and all-around technical ability have impressed Chelsea supporters to no end.
"But in this moment of the season it's very important, the performance. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy", Pedro was quoted by Chelsea FC website.
