The Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reports Hamas will consent to a five-year truce with Israel which would end Hamas efforts to crash the Israeli border with the Gaza Strip and to attack Israel with rockets, incendiary balloons, and kites which have sparked fires that charred thousands of acres and damaged crops.
The delegation was welcomed by Hamas leader Ismail Haniya and members of the group's political bureau.
The protests on Friday occurred a day after a senior Hamas delegation arrived in the Gaza Strip from Egypt to discuss a possible cease-fire with Israel and resume internal reconciliation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party.
The strike was carried out by an IDF tank after several Palestinians infiltrated into Israel from southern Gaza, and hurled firebombs and an explosive device in the border fence area, said the Israeli army, Xinhua reported.
Some flew kites with burning rags attached - a tactic that has widened in recent weeks, with the aim of setting fires in Israel, and has drawn Israeli retaliation.
"The ship was monitored and was intercepted in accordance with worldwide law", the army said in a statement, before the vessel, named Freedom for Gaza and carrying 12 people, was taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday delayed a planned visit to Colombia amid speculation that a truce agreement could be reached within days.
In a statement, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said it included Marzouk, Rishq and Badran as well as Khalil al Hayya and Rawhi Mushtaha.
At least 156 Palestinians have been killed since March 30, when Palestinians in the Gaza Strip began holding nearly daily protests near the buffer zone.
The deal would purportedly include the improvement of living conditions inside Gaza, in addition to a sea port and an airport in Egypt. Critics say it amounts to collective punishment of Gaza's 2 million people.
On Sunday, the Israeli navy intercepted a Norwegian-flagged activist boat that was part of the flotilla.
Similar attempts by activists to challenge the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza have been foiled before.
