"The players have the habits to play in the global break, in important matches, defending their identity and when one player stops doing that, I think it is also good for them to focus only on their team", said Emery on Thursday.
New coach Unai Emery doesn't want to let him leave, though, given his form at the start of the season. "If teams can not play in the Champions League, it is very important".
Ozil was substituted by Emery in Arsenal's second game of the season away to Chelsea and left out due to illness a week later for the Spaniard's first win in charge at home to West Ham. "He is working for the team to help us with his quality". But he is feeling like I am feeling.
Arsenal manager Emery said he enjoyed a "relaxing" three days with Ozil in training after the player's retirement from worldwide football meant he did not depart with the Germany squad last week. Lucas Torreira could start in his place, or Aaron Ramsey could drop back from his advanced position against Cardiff and allow Mesut Ozil to play through the middle with Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the right of the front three. He can improve, he can do more.
"He had a relaxing three days off at the weekend".
'We've got good, strong players, ' he sad. Mesut works very well here.
But after two wins under their belt the Gunners should be feeling a little more confident, but this will be another big test of whether the team have come to terms with Emery's tactics.
"After two weeks, after two months and now, I can say that I am very happy with him because he is 32 years old but I think physically, with his performances with us in matches, he is playing with a very good level".
"Mesut, I look at him with the focus totally here".
