#Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin on the still-absent Le'Veon Bell perhaps showing up tomorrow: "I hadn't thought abt it".
He was not at the Rooney Complex yet again.
Everyone assumes that by this time on Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell will be in Pittsburgh, franchise tender signed and will be working out with the team. "Coach Tomlin and the coaching staff will continue to focus on preparing the players on our roster for our regular season opener on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns". "I'm going to be disappointed, but obviously, I would love to have him here".
"I spoke to him before camp, but that's it", Roethlisberger said. "Being a rookie who missed a lot of time due to soft tissue injuries and lack of general readiness to a guy who's done the things that we outlined".
"My focus is on this team and who is here", Heyward said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Last year, when Bell also played on the franchise tag, he reported on Labor Day, practiced four times and then played in the season opener in Cleveland. If he comes on this journey, he comes on this journey.
Center Maurkice Pouncey said Monday that he anticipates Bell rejoining the team Wednesday when the players resume practicing after an off day. They did it without Bell, and it sure seemed like the Steelers couldn't care less. "Whenever he gets here we'll celebrate with him".
"As I've told you throughout this process, when he gets here, that's when we'll start quantifying all Le'Veon Bell-related things", said Tomlin. "We will weigh all of those things at the appropriate time".
Tomlin also said he is more comfortable about his running back depth than at this point a year ago.
Or maybe Bell will skip a week to send one last message about his frustration over not being able to sign a long-term deal during the offseason. Could be a week, as it was past year.
