Previous leaks said the Pixel 3 would be available for preorder right after Google's event on Tuesday in all the countries where Google is holding local events, including the US, UK, and France, but also in other worldwide markets.
On Tuesday, Google introduced the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones, two phones sold on the black market and viewed in the summer, and then sold and viewed in Hong Kong a few days before the Google press conference. In a simultaneous launch across Paris, London, Tokyo and Singapore, it showcased an upgraded Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL with revamped cameras, design, processor. This is the display version of the Home Speaker with a 7-inch display that can also be used to watch YouTube videos and can practically handle all kinds of home-based activities that you want your Google Assistant to do.
The YouTube experience has been optimised on Home Hub, and it will also come with six months of free YouTube Premium. Google Pixel 3 users will be the first ones to test the experimental feature. When you tap on the "Screen call" button, Google Assistant will alert the caller that you are "using a screening service from Google".
The Pixel line-up is known for its AI-enabled camera performance and Pixel 3 and 3 XL take it a bit further. The keyboard is backlit with rounded keys and connects to the Pixel Slate via a smart connector at the bottom of the device.
According to Daniel Bader from Android Central, Google's product designers were keen on adding a notch to the smaller Pixel 3 as well, because customers want more screen real estate and a notch is now considered the best way to achieve it.
Google uses its flagship phones to show off the capability of its hardware understanding and software, but it has never come close to competing with the iPhone on sales. It seems that Pixel 3 designers at Google are in the former camp. Both devices can be connected to the Slate via Bluetooth. But none of the models is equipped with a 3.5-mm headphone jack - a big surprise. It starts at $599, with a complementary keyboard for $199 and a pen for $99.
