The Mate 20 has a 6.53-inch 2240 x 1080 RGBW DCI-P3 HDR LCD display with a water-drop notch and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Like the Mate 20 Pro, it will be powered by the company's latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor and come with 8GB of RAM.
The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones, which were officially launched on Oct 16 (Tuesday) in London, feature three cameras on their backs and a host of camera-centric artificial intelligence tricks.
The Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 40-megapixel primary sensor with wide-angle lens (f/1.8), a 20-megapixel sensor with ultra wide angle lens (f/2.2), and the third is an 8-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens for 3X optical zoom and portrait mode. It is also expected that the Mate 20 series smartphones will come equipped with in-display fingerprint sensor and a new facial recognition technology.
Talking about gaming, Huawei compared the Mate 20 X with the Nintendo Switch which it says, has double the gaming battery life of the Nintendo device.
But ahead of the Mate 20 Pro's debut, the hardware appears to have been plagued by a number of leaks that may have outed its best features.
Design-wise it's much like the standard Mate 20, complete with a teardrop notch.
Way back in October of previous year, Huawei introduced the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The Mate 20 Pro supports 40W fast wired charging (up to 70% charge in 30 minutes) while the Mate 20 supports 22W fast wired charging, and both models support 15W fast wireless charging. Place a Qi-compatible smartphone in direct contact with the Mate 20 Pro to charge this phone using the Mate 20 Pro's huge 4,200mAh battery.
Security is provided by a 3D face scanner and an in-display fingerprint reader.
The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will both launch with Android 9.0 Pie on board, although you'll find Huawei's EMUI 9.0 on top of it. This allows users to unlock the phone by pressing on a specific spot on the screen with a finger. The back is clad in leather with a vertical strip of glass holding the Leica triple camera, its nearly like a racing stripe. The watch runs Huawei's own LiteOS operating system and features a 1.39-inch Amoled display.
Finally WinFuture declared the Mate 20 Pro will cost €999 (£876.38) for a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
