Wayne Rooney has called on Manchester United's players to stand up and be counted, saying that manager Jose Mourinho is an easy target for the club's troubles. It marked a complete turnaround from the performance that caused United to leave at half-time to boos from the Old Trafford crowd.
Rooney believes the current situation at Old Trafford is similar to Louis van Gaal's two-year spell with the club.
"He was exhausted in terms of nerves, he has chosen to take a sabbatical year and he won't go back on that", said Migliaccio, Zidane's long-standing agent.
"I think his mouth is out of control and he's embarrassing the club". It's a young team, and it's a different pressure. "It is much less his style".
If the first-half scoreline had carried over to the full-time whistle then reports of Mourinho's sacking would have certainly intensified, as would the rumours about his successor. At the end of last season the French coach abandoned the reigning Champions League champions despite having time left to run on his contract. I have discussed it with him, it does not really attract him.
