Whether you're testing yourself against new difficulty settings, playing through the epic story campaign, searching for the ideal skill combo, expanding your collection of gear, racing through random dungeons, or traveling Sanctuary anew each season, you'll always have a fresh challenge to seek out.
The action RPG is set after Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and before Diablo III. There was, however, the most energy-sucking announcement of them all; a mobile partnership between Blizzard Entertainment and Netease to create a "mobile massively multiplayer online action-role-playing game" for Android and iOS called Diablo Immortal. Diablo: Immortal was developed from the ground up as a stand-alone mobile experience. If you fall firmly into the Diablo III camp, today is the day to make your move.
Play as six classes, including the Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Crusader, Demon Hunter, and Necromancer. Through Westmarch, players will visit 9 different outdoor zones, hunting corrupted fragments of the Worldstone and the demons left in their wake.
The announcement came with some official gameplay and it will be interesting to see how Blizzard adopts the game to a touch-screen format. Other rumors had swirled prior to the event regarding both a potential Diablo or Diablo 2 remaster. "These are very exciting times-we now have multiple teams working on different Diablo projects and we can't wait to tell you all about them. when the time is right, the company said".
Blizzard says the game is "coming soon", although the publisher has yet to confirm a specific release date.
