Don't expect that Dez Bryant "X" just yet.
Bryant was reportedly getting an MRI Friday afternoon.
Bryant was originally planning to make his Saints debut in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it's up in the air whether he will play at all this season.
Last season, Bryant hauled in 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
Saints coach Sean Payton said Thursday that Bryant would be taking the spot on the active roster vacated by receiver Cameron Meredith, a free-agent signing last offseason who is coming back from a major knee injury, and who went on injured reserve after he and the club agreed he'd benefit from undergoing an arthroscopic cleanup on that same knee. But it's not just because he's now playing for one of the NFC's best teams. Although two teams offered Bryant a deal, he ended up declining both, the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns offers.
"I'm always going to be me, you know, who I am". I've always been a good guy, you can ask my teammates. But they will nearly certainly look to add depth at the position next week after placing Cameron Meredith on injured reserve Wednesday and Ted Ginn Jr. on IR last month. I'm not a bad guy.
Bryant said he had turned down other opportunities to work out this season, without offering any specifics. "I love the locker room".
Soon after, Bryant tweeted several times that he holds no bitterness or anger toward the Cowboys.
Bryant said he does not feel like he has something to prove after the way things ended in Dallas.
