James Harden was the talk of the National Basketball Association world on Thursday night after a 3-point shot in overtime pushed the surging Houston Rockets over the Golden State Warriors, and Dwyane Wade couldn't help but take to Twitter to remark on the defending MVP's incredible performance.
Harden had 15 assists and 10 rebounds to go with his 44 points - his second straight triple-double - and the guard made no attempt to hide the depth of his self-belief.
Luckily for the Rockets, they have James Harden, and he drained a ridiculous three-pointer to lift the team to victory.
"He's been playing at a high level the last 11 games, so it is not surprising considering the roll he is on", Curry said of Harden.
The Rockets were thankful for James Harden and the referees should be, too.
Harden has been ridiculously good for pretty much the entire season, averaging more than 33 points for the season. "That's what we need to focus on". It wouldn't surprise Curry to see the Rockets in a postseason rematch after the Warriors overcame a 3-2 deficit to beat Houston in seven games in the Western Conference finals past year. Myself, the front office, (owner) Tilman Fertitta, we feel a big responsibility to make sure that while he's in his peak years - which we feel will be for many years - that we're maximizing every minute of that.
While it seemed the Warriors were going to hold them off, a critical 6-0 run in the final 1:03 left in the game, capped by a huge Harden step-back 3-pointer over Kevin Durant, tied it up 119-119. "Give him all the credit he deserves".
That's in line with what Harden has been doing all season long. Don't foul me on my jump shot and then we won't have nothing to talk about.
